Them Damn Canadians Hanged Louis Riel

Louis Riel Day, November 16. The day that the Metis President of the Manitoba Republic-leader of the rebellion against the Hudson Bay Company rule transferred to the newly established Canadian government-was hanged by the Mounties.


The title above is also the title of a good book on the subject by James McNamee, published `1971. 2nd hand copies readily available from the usual sources.
